We keep information about you so we can look after you while you study in the UK. That can include your name, school, how to contact you, travel and host-family details, and health or welfare information when we need it to keep you safe.
We share information only when we must: with your parents or guardian, your school, a host family, or emergency services. If you might be at risk of harm, we tell the people who can protect you even if you asked us not to.
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing privacy@oakbridgeguardians.com or speaking to someone at Oakbridge. If you are unhappy, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office. The full notice below is the legal version.
We rely primarily on contract, legal obligation and legitimate interests. Where we process special-category information (for example health or safeguarding data), we do so because it is necessary for safeguarding children and young people, or with explicit consent where that is the appropriate lawful route.
We share information only where necessary, for example with schools, host families, approved transport providers, emergency services, insurers, professional advisers and local authorities. We do not sell personal information.
Some parents, agents or systems may be outside the UK. Where transfers occur, we use appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law.
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, including safeguarding, insurance, complaint and legal retention periods. Details are set out in our Data Retention Policy (C003).
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Oakbridge is registered with the ICO under registration number ZC226421. You can check the public register at ico.org.uk, or contact privacy@oakbridgeguardians.com.
Safeguarding overrides confidentiality where a child may be at risk. We will share information with the right agencies when needed to protect a student.
